Neo Angelique is set in a fantasy world called Arcadia, which came from the Angelique universe, and a new heroine named Angelique is introduced. Though based on Angelique, Neo Angelique is more of an adventure game than love simulation, though you still need to develop a relationship with the love target of your choice.

Arcadia is besieged by an evil called Tanatos. Everything that Thanatos touches turns to ruin, including both the land and its people. Only those with the ability to purify Thanatos's influence can successfully battle him but this ability has never been found in a girl until now. Angelique and her friends, the Orb Hunters, must free Arcadia of Thanatos's evil influence.
